SNAP Match Programs
There are many reasons why fruits and vegetables might not make it into your diet. The Washington State Department of Health and other organizations across the state are working together to offer SNAP Match programs that make fruits and vegetables easier to buy.
Currently, there are two Snap Match programs available in Whatcom County:
SNAP Market Match matches Basic Food benefits (SNAP/ EBT/ Food Stamps) dollar-for-dollar when you purchase $25 or more worth of fresh produce at participating farmers markets.
In Whatcom County, SNAP Market Match is available at the Bellingham Farmers Market, Twin Sisters Farmers Markets in Birchwood, Deming, and Kendall, Lynden Farmers Market, and EN Valley Farmers Market in Everson.
SNAP Produce Match helps shoppers stretch their food budget to buy more fruits and vegetables when they use Basic Food benefits (SNAP/ EBT/ Food Stamps) at participating grocery stores.
In Whatcom County, SNAP Produce Match is available at Community Food Co-Op stores in Bellingham, and Safeway in Bellingham and Lynden.
