  • Help for Hard Times: Resources to survive the first month of unemployment.  A resource list from United Way of Whatcom County.
  • LAW Advocates If you are low-income and live in Whatcom County, you can call to get advice and referral to volunteer legal resources.  LAW advocates offers a creditor/debtor clinic by appointment.
  • ClearPoint Financial Solutions Seattle A nonprofit credit counseling service.  Services cost $35 a month or less for Washington residents.
  • Opportunity Council Community Resource Directory listing of community agencies and services in Whatcom County.
  • Basic Food Information (pdf) Income guidelines and other information about basic food assistance (aka food stamps).
  • Whatcom Financial Services for community members who want help managing their money, paying their bills, or are developmentally disabled, suffer from mental health issues, or are incapacitated due to aging.
